restaurants near Checkpoint Charlie

We%26#39;re staying at an apartment near Checkpoint Charlie and will be hosting a group of 8 for dinner on Sunday, Nov 29. Looking for a reasonable and interesting place walkable from the apartment.

An English menu is essential as are non-pork entrees. Any help for that night or other nights for just the 2 of us will be appreciated

Casual, not exceptional, but not bad quality either:

* Maredo (Argentinian beef and salat bar) on Q205

OK prices:

* Fred Entrecote (French, steaks) on Schützenstraße

* Sale e Tabbachi (Italian) on Rudi Dutschke Straße

* Fassbender und Rausch Restaurant on the corner of Charlottenstraße and Mohrenstraße (above the chocolate shop)

High street (Michelin stars, etc.)

* Borchards

* Guy

* Fischers Fritz

* Mark Brandenburg

all around Gendarmenmarkt

If you open up google maps and put in Check Point Charlie then when the location comes up on the map, right click on it, and use the seach nearby option. Type in restaurants and this will map all restaurants near by. You will find that many of them have websites which include an online menu.

You can pick your favourites out and then even print off a map with walking directions from your apartment.

thanks - sounds like Entrecote and Sale e Tabacchi are my best choices for places easily walkable - BTW, I found the search function and maps on TA was better than Google
