Trip To Nurnberg

Hello

We will be spending one long day in Nurnberg (early train arrival from Munisch at 8:30 AM and heading back around 7:30 PM). While there we plan on seeing:

Documentation Center and Rally Grounds

Old Town Walk

St. Lawrence Church

Christmas Market

Germanic Museum

My question: while we defintely plan, on our walk, to tour the grounds of the Imperial Castle, do you think it worthwhile to take the tour of the interior of the castle? It takes quite a long time and it is in German (which we do not speak). Some travel gides (like Rick Steves) suggests the interior is not that great (especially since we will be seeing Schloss Nymphenburg, Neuschwanstein, and The residence in Munich). So--spend more time at museum, Documentation Center or spend the time turing interior of acstle?

Thanks!

Frankly, when you get INTo neuschwanstein be prepared to POSSIBLY be disappointed..IMO the interior decoration isn%26#39;t all that great and not nearly as interesting as Linderhof and the best of the four %26quot;builds%26quot; for decoration is the palace at Herrenchiemsee.

The thing I remember the most about the interior (in Nurberg) is that very deep well into which they lower the %26quot;platter%26quot; of candles to demonstrate the depth..otherwise the rest didn%26#39;t make that big an impression..at least on me.

Wish I could offer more but if you end up doing all these things you plan, especially in Munich and surrounds I am certain you%26#39;ll come away satisfied.

If you only have 1/2 day to see Nürnberg, i wont visit the

inside of the castle. Its quite plain and not so much so see.

Its enough to see the %26quot;Deep fountain%26quot; and go up to the

Sinwell Tower, to have a nice view over the city.

The other spots are o.k.
