Hi!
I%26#39;m planning a Christmas trip to Munich (to see the Xmas market on the 24th), but it seems all the sights and museums are closed on the 25th.
So, what to do in Munich on the 25th December? Please, advise!
Are the cafees and restaurants open or closed?
Thank you very much in advance!

The 24th is the day when most things will be shut down. After about 1400, everything in Germany pretty much closes, including the Christmas market.
This is the big celebration day. Chuches of course will have services, but all stores and restaurants will be closed. Unless you have made dinner reservations at a nice hotel, you will be hard pressed to find any place to eat on the evening of the 24th. Many restaurants re-open on the 25th and do a booming business. Check each of the museums websites that you are interested in visiting for their closing schedules for the Christmas holiday.

Quite a number of cafes and restaurants will stay closed on Christmas day. Those restaurants that are open on Dec 25 will mostly have fixed menus and require reservation. Ask at your hotel for a recommendation, or better, book a hotel that has a restaurant (and again, ask if they require prebooking of dinner both on Dec 24 and 25).
The best season to visit Germany for some Christmas atmosphere is before Christmas but not during the holidays. The Christmas market will, like most shops, close at 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve so it%26#39;s also the afternoon and evening of Dec 24 you have to worry about.

On dec 24 some bars and clubs re-open later in the evening (10-11pm) for the younger crowds. It%26#39;s often easier to find something to have a drink than something to eat on 24th.
