I will be in Garmisch in late November with wife, my 12 year old son and 8 year old daughter. We would like to go sledding/tobogganing while we are there. Any recommendations?

Hi CardsFan81,
Here is a link to the tobagganing page of the town%26#39;s website:
www.gapa.de/en/index.html…
(Sorry it%26#39;s so long, but just click on it and it should take you right there)
Ive never done this, so unfortunately I don%26#39;t have any information on it. But it is listed under the %26quot;Winter%26quot; activities, and it doesn%26#39;t seem that there will be enough snow in Nov for this. You may want to e-mail the tourist office and ask.
Have fun!

We are in Garmisch now (October) and there is plenty of snow on the mountains for sledding. Look into the cable car lifts and they will probably have info on the best places to sled. Enjoy!

Ummm. . . . I%26#39;m also in Garmisch.
Yes, we did get quite a lot of the nice white stuff quite early. But I don%26#39;t think there is enough of it on the slopes to sustain sleds, etc. It looks pretty, but it looks pretty thin, too. And I surely don%26#39;t know if there will be a heat wave (predicted) and rain (inevitible) that will melt the snow between now and Nov. I hope not, but it may happen.
Last November, there wasn%26#39;t enough snow on the slopes for anything until after Christmas.
Anyway, I still think the tourist office (reached at www.gapa.de) will be your best source.
