ICE and Special Lounge Access

Does booking first class seating on an ICE allow one to use special lounges at the main stations? I have read this on more than one post and we have several legs on ICE trains booked for our upcoming trip to Germany and that would be a nice perk.

Yes.

Having a first class tickets allows one to use the lounges, no matter whether it is for an ICE or not.

Thanks for the clarification!

Do you know if they allow smoking in these lounges?

No smoking is allowed in enclosed public spaces in all German states. While some pubs have a way around it by declaring themselves %26quot;smoking clubs for members only%26quot;, it%26#39;s not something you would expect from an organisation like DB.

Great news! Thanks for responding.

If you are going through Berlin the lounge is especially nice with drinks served to your seat and great views over the city.

We%26#39;ll be traveling from Berlin to Dresden and then Berlin to Frankfurt so that is good to know - thanks!
