Just wondering if the newly opened Neues Museum has free entry on thursday nights after 6 pm as do the other museums in the Museum insel? Thanks for any info.

Note too that as the Pergamon Museum now has a lot of special exhibitions it is rarely possible to get free entry there either these days.

Are you saying that it is discretionary as to whether they allow you in - we are planning to visit the Pergamon on Thanksgiving night to take advantage of free admission.

The current special exhibition %26quot;The return of the gods%26quot; at the Pergamon Museum runs till 11. April 2010.
Unlike in some museums the special exhibition at the Pergamon Museum is not in a part with a separate entrance/access.
This means till April 2010 no free access on Thursday evenings to the Pergamon Museum.

The Bode Museum was open for free a couple of weeks ago.

Yes Bode Museum is free Thursdays after 6pm as is the Alte Nationalgalerie. I%26#39;ve been caught out by the Pergamon special exhibitions; one time I paid anyway (for Babylon), another trip we just went to the Bode Museum and Alte Nationalgalerie instead.
