First time in Munich: 2 full days, enough?

I%26#39;m visiting Munich in June 2010 and will have 2 full days. Would this be enough to see the sights in this city?

Suggested itineraries?

well yes, 2 full days will allow you to see the sights but its not really a town full of %26#39;highlights%26#39;... its more a town you enjoy over say a week to enjoy the hospitality and get away from the busloads of americans in the english garden or hofbraeuhaus... have a look on %26#39;things to do%26#39; etc which is right in front of you on this web site...

Read the trip reports here as well as the many thread with details on suggestions for Munich. Munich is a great city and we are headed there for the 5th time this December.

It seems that you are in need of a good guide book and some research so you can learn about Munich and what appeals to YOU. You must have selected it for a reason so what is that?

Our travel style is not to check off a list of must do%26#39;s but to walk everywhere and explore, stopping often for a coffee, glass of wine or beer, etc. Sidestreets are just as enjoyable as musuems for us and we enjoy Munich because it is a vibrant city, very easy to get around and a great base for Bavaria.

2 days would gave you a %26#39;taste%26#39; to what Munich is like.

As suggested read up posts and information in guide books and whats on TA and decide whats important for you to see and your interests. Really depends on what %26#39;your%26#39; travel style is like.

Having been going to this wonderful city many, many times over 20 years, I still find something or somewhere to visit and always have a great time, Enjoy!

Two days would be enough to have a glance at the city landmarks. However, if you would like to feel the city ( or even more visit particular areas of interest such as museums, galleries etc) 2 days as a very restricted time frame.

I agree with KepinItReal, Munich is a city to just relax and enjoy yourself. Enjoy the cuisine, the culture, and the people. It%26#39;s not one of the bigger bustling sight-seeing cities in Europe.

To see %26quot;the sights%26quot;, two days are not enough, just like in any other larger city. You will have to make some tough choices.

The official website of the city contains a lot of information that will be useful for you and help you select. Here is the link to their %26quot;Sightseeing%26quot; page: muenchen.de/Tourismus/…index.html

Thanks guys!!! Unfortunately, I had to make the tough decision of staying for 2 days in Munich, and 3 days in Berlin. I%26#39;ll consider all of your recommendations!
