Kochel?

Kochel is not far from Oberammergau where the 2010 Passion Play takes place. If you have %26quot;wheels%26quot;, there are many other places you can visit - - Linderhof, Fuessen, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald , etc.

Of course you can easily visit all the places mentioned by Treplow above with public transportation too!

What kinds of things would you be interested in? Are you hikers? Like to take cable cars to mountaintops? Explore Bavarian villages?

Thanks for your reply Swandav, not hikers but love cable cars, exploring villages and festivels, and yes we will have a car. Just hanging out where the locals do and soaking in the atmosphere. Should we make one hotel our base for about 8 days or should we stay a few days and continue on.

If you also like art you can soak yourself in the German expressionists: Franz Marc%26#39;s house at Kochel, the exhibition in Murnau castle (Kandinsky, Múnter et al) and at the Buchheim collection at Bernried. Murnau is very pretty in its own right, as is Fússen.
