Munich, Salsburg, Zurich, Baden, Lake Constance

My wife and I are planning a two week trip to Germany from 9/11 - 9/25, 2010. We plan on hitting the above mentioned cities. Wondering if anyone has any tips for traveling between the cities or can%26#39;t miss things while visiting.

Train is fast and easy between Munich and Salzburg. You might choose to rent a car for one day in Salzburg to visit surrounding areas but we found public transport excellent. Having a car and staying in the center can be cumbersome and expensive.

Munich is a nice city and a great base for day trips with LOTS of choices depending on your tastes. From the castles of Ludwig, to the beautoful Bavarian countryside to the history of Nuremberg, all can be accessed via public transport.

Train is for sure an option. Good deals are the Bavaria Ticket and Baden-Württemberg Ticket covering all regional trains and nearly all other local public transport (trams, buses) in the respective state. Bavaria Ticket is also good to Salzburg Hbf. Baden-Württemberg Ticket is good to Basel SBB and Schaffhausen. These are mini group (2-5 persons) day tickets. Price is EUR 28,00.
