Recommended hotels in Frankfurt

Hi, I am going to Frankfurt next August to see U2 at the Commerzbank Arena, and was wanting advise on a good hotel that is fairly nearby/central to the Arena.

Not too expensive but not shabby either please.

The arena is sort of out in the woods, but you get there with the S-bahn, which only takes about 8 min. from the city center. Usually ,if you have a ticket to a concert, you get to ride the train for free.

If you give a budget, it is easier to recommend a hotel, especially in a city that has hundreds of hotels. Also the dates, so we can see if it coincides with any trade fairs or other big events.

It will be no problem to return to the city after the concert. Public transport is included with your concert ticket.

E.g. around the Hauptbahnhof (main train stations) there are many hotels and it%26#39;s only a short hop by S-Bahn to the stadium.

thank you, we are going to be staying 9th, 10th %26amp; 11th August 2010. Don%26#39;t want a very expensive hotel but a nice comfortable 3 star would be nice...

We went to France this year and needed an overnight stay in Perpignan, I looked on here and after a recommendation, booked a hotel but it was terrible...no air con and we were on the 6th floor in the stifling heat! Not very pleasant at all.....

So your advice would be gratefully received...

Thanks again

Ah, now see that is important to know. There are a lot of hotels that do not have AC, and though it isn%26#39;t often needed here, it can be nice sometimes. I would look at the Ibis on the Friedensbruche perhaps. Or when looking for a hotel on www.hris.com, make sure you type in AC as an amenity. Once you get a few choices, come back and ask us what we think.

Personally, I like the Best Western Chain in Europe though I never stay in these in Canada or USA.

I am not sure if you could use any of these coupons to book, but it may be worthwhile to investigate...
