Hello everyone,
My Borther and i are travelling over from Belfast for the above football match. We are Celtic supporters. We have been offered 2 tickets for the game, but it is sitting in Section 11C which i assume is in with the Hamburg support. Without meaning to offend anyone, could i have your opinions as to whether you feel it would be ok for us to sit in this section with the home support, i mean should we expect any trouble as we are celtic supporters or do you think we will be fine?
thanks

Just checked the arena map:
hsv-hshnordbank-arena.de/bilder/stadionplan.…
1st: in 11c you are sitting pretty high. i dont know what stadium sizes u are used to, but for me (used to arenas made to comprise about 30.000 people max) 11c is way to far from the grass.
anyway: 11c is in between the guests supporters block (14a/b) and the way-too-boring families block (8). so - maybe apart from the vip-lounges - this is one of the safest places u can find for non-HSV-supporters.
in general guest supporters never had much to fear here. the %26#39;action%26#39; is at the games of the smaller FC of Hamburg: FC St. Pauli. Especially when guests with a %26#39;history of violence%26#39; come to visit (like Union Berlin or FC Hansa Rostock).

First of all, many thanks for your reply.
i was also wondering if you have any advice on whether it would be wise to cover up any celtic colours while in the ground? or on arrival at the stadium. Would the security staff at the arena allow us in to the section knowing we were celtic supporters?
any other info would be appreciated also!
again many thanks.

From the HSV website:
Important information for away supporters:
Due to UEFA regulations we herby inform you, that it isn´t possible for away-supporters to buy tickets through the HSV- website. Away supporters are kindly requested to buy their tickets through the guest club. Away supporters in other areas than the official away section will be expelled from the stadium. Bookings from non-members from abroad may be cancelled through us with no further notice. Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation.
I%26#39;m going to be in Hamburg on the day and try to get a ticket, but not wearing the Hoops to be on the safe side.

Alright there mate. I am also going to the game but will be in the Celtic end. If I were you I would not wear any Celtic colours unless you end up in the Celtic end. Hamburg have a strong right wing element and they also have a very strong affiliation with the huns. I%26#39;ve travelled alot with Celtic and I recon this game could have the pottential to be a bit mental of the pitch. St Pauli will be travelling in numbers as well because of there affilition with Celtic so I would recommend you not wearing any colours. If you have a season ticket (or if you know anyone with a season ticket) for Celtic Park, there are still tickets available for the Celtic section. All you need to do is email them you travel documents and they should then send you out some tickets. There are two prices, I%26#39;m sure it%26#39;s £21 and £31.
Hail Hail mate and enjoy your trip.
Ps St Pauli are playing at home on the Friday.

The majority of the HSV fans are friendly, but I%26#39;d certainly not wear Celtic colours, if you%26#39;re not in the Celtic end. As previously said, there%26#39;s a pretty good chance you would not be let into the ground anyway.
I was in Hamburg the last time Celtic played HSV (about 10 years ago). The atmosphere was brilliant, and there was very little trouble. It was a 4 day party. The St Pauli fans are great (I am one!) and you should have a brilliant time.
Go to the St Pauli Eck pub in Simon-von-Utrechtstraße (near the Reeperbahn) to meet lots of friendly St Pauli fans.
Have a great time
