Budget hotels near Hauptbahnhof?

Flying to Asia through Frankfurt and will spend 1 night in the city. Any suggestions for the hotel near main train station, preferably within walking distance. Is it possible to get dbl room with private bathroom/shower under 90 euro in this area?

Depends when. No problem at normal times, however not during a major trade fair, like the book fair in the moment.

Try Hotel Monopol or Excelsior Hotel. Next to each other and right outside the south exit of the train station. If there isn%26#39;t a fair on you should be able to get a double for about 75 euro, and this includes breakfast, free mini-bar, free wi-fi and coffee and snacks in the dining room.

I%26#39;ve stayed at the Monopol for one night. It%26#39;s directly across a side street from the Hauptbahnhof. The area is seedy but safe (I%26#39;m a woman traveling alone, and arrived late). The hotel isn%26#39;t charming, but secure and clean, with a decent breakfast buffet.

Thank you very much, girls!

Hon, I am old enough to be your mom!

As a simple rule of thumb: If we don%26#39;t refer to you as a boy, then you shouldn%26#39;t refer to us as girls.

Thanks!

We stayed at the Bristol Hotel. Less than a five minute walk to the Haupbahnhof. It had a really good Buffet Breakfast. There is also a vey nice restaurant direct across the road.

My apolgies. And thanks again.

No problem! :-))

With a nickname such as bornheimGIRL you should expect to be referred to as a girl. Perhaps a change of nick if you are offended of it?

All mentioned hotels quoted well over 200 euro for a double room. But no problem, managed to book Radisson Blu at great rate (Franklinstrasse 65). But it%26#39;s quite far from the center, so we%26#39;ll need to do trips: airport-hotel-city center for sightseeing-hotel- airport.

The questinon? What transport (except taxi) we should use and what kind of tickets should buy?
