stay at fuessen town or weissensee

Reaching Fuessen in early September. Found some economical B%26amp;B%26#39;s in Weissensee which is approx. 5 kms from Fuessen. Would anyone have some feedback on any of these B%26amp;B%26#39;s - Berghof Sichler, pension weisser hirsch, hax n wirt, pension garni steigmuehle, seegasthof weissensee. Thanks.

I haven%26#39;t stayed there, but but have driven through Weissensee. It is along the main road (B-310) coming from the west (Pfronten) into Fuessen and is located a bit above Fuessen, with a nice view of the mountains.

Of the places you listed, only the Seegasthof Weissensee is listed in the red Michelin Guide Deutschland. It is rated %26quot;quite comfortable%26quot;. I generally rely on the Michelin Guide when choosing my lodgings, anywhere. It says in the Guide that there is outdoor eating available as well as a beach/garden. Since the Gasthof is along the B-310 it could be noisy, unless you can get a room overlooking the lake. The hotel is 6km from Fuessen.

There is also the nearby village of Schwangau-Horn. Very very close by to Fuessen. There are several nice hotels and many of them have a view to the castles which is very pretty at night with all of the lights shining on the castles. Try the Hotel Helmerhof http://www.helmerhof.de/ or the Hotel Ruebezahl http://www.hotelruebezahl.de/en/ if you can afford it.

Tou could also stay in ohenschwangau itself. We stayed at the Guesthouse Weiher. In the evening, after most of the tourists left, it was magic to sit on the balcony, watching the lighted castle and listening to the cowbells.
