In June 2010, my wife celebrates (maybe not the correct word!) her 70th birthday. We wish to combine a 5 to 7 day river cruise finishing in Bonn or Cologne where we would stay for a while with our daughter.. Our daughter and her family are moving next month to Bonn to live for about 2 years.
Can anyone suggest a Rhein riverboat cruise we could join at Cologne or Bonn, perhaps including the Mosel (Lorelei), Andernach, Cochem, Boppard, Rudesheim, Koblenz . We enjoy German castles eating and (a little) drinking good German beer (is there any other kind?), nice scenic routes, local history and German folk music - especially Alpine type so anything including any of those would be good.
We would make our own travel arrangements to and from Ireland / Cologne / Bonn.

I%26#39;m not sure which river trip you should take, but I can tell you which ones not to take: those offered by Mittelrhein-lichter (www.mittelrhein-lichter). It was a total bait and switch. When I complained to them, they said they didn%26#39;t understand English. When I was buying the trips, their English was excellent. Beware of this company!
