Bad Tolz for 2 nights; have two additional days/nights to fill...
any suggestions where next to visit for two days/nights November 13//14th?
Travelling by train and must be back in Munich by 15.00hrs 14th

From Bad Tolz I would head to Garmisch or Mittenwald. Plenty of outdoor activities and sights near both and you can get back to Munich in about 2 hours or slightly less from either location.
You could spend a 1/2 day (if weather is nice) going up to the Zugspitz, and 1 day making a route from Garmisch to Ettal, Linderhof, Fussen, Nesschwanstein, Wieskirche, and back to Garmisch.

Thanks, I see Mittenwald is a 2.50hr journey by train from BT, via munich.
I could probably head over to Salzburg in that time, is that a an option?
Don%26#39;t want to spend all our short time on the train!
Guess it depends on the weather what we end up doing, originally was going to spend two nights in Bad Tolz then 2more in Munich, but now I%26#39;m looking at an alternative to Munich for those 2nights, ending up in a smaller family run/type guest house or hotel. There%26#39;s a blank canvas waiting to be filled!
any other ideas? can I expect to find a tourist office open in BT?

Just less than 2 hours to Garmisch, 2 1/2-3 hours to Salzburg. That is certainly a great option...depends on what your interests are. I have been to Salzburg and Garmisch many times and if I had to choose, I would go for Garmisch because of all the other, surrounding activities. Pick up a travel guide for each and take a look at the sights and see which interest you the most.

Hi,
I%26#39;d pick either Mittenwald or Salzburg, depending on what you%26#39;d like to see. Mittenwald is the %26quot;quintessential%26quot; Bavarian village with a mountain backdrop. Salzburg is a very charming old town. Both offer enough options for 2 days. You can%26#39;t go wrong either way.

Garmisch sounds like a very interesting option, would the cable cars be running at this time (Nov)?

Cable car generally runs year round to the Zugspitze. Couple of links below. When you take the cable car from the Eibsee to the Zugspitze, you can take another short lift down to an area for lunch, drinks and where people are skiiing.

Click on %26quot;excursion destinations%26quot; for the other sights in the area worth getting to if you have the time.
Also, link below gets you the Zugspitze site and all the information you should need.
