I was wondering how the weather in cologne is like, towards the end of December. Does it rain a lot? My family and I are planning a two weeks visit.
You did say that during the first days of december it rains a lot. I was just wondering if it was like that during the whole month.

Anyone who knew to predict the weather months in advance would make a fortune...
It may rain any time of the year in these parts of the world. It may just as well be sunny. It may snow in December, it may be grey and overcast, foggy, etc. It won%26#39;t rain for two entire weeks and it won%26#39;t stay sunny for two entire weeks. You will most likely expect a bit of everything. Pack rain gear ands pack warm winter clothes. Bring shoes that survive a walk in the rain and that keep your feet warm when standing on a Christmas market for hours in frosty conditions.

Funny that I can answer that question from Chicago where the weather absolutely sucks. The weather can be very changeable in December, but it is moderate, not like Chicago. Yes, it can rain, and might even snow, but the snow will melt very quickly. You should dress in layers, and can always buy an umbrella. December is a great time to visit because of the Christmas markets. Cologne has easy public transportation, great museums, and is really festive around Christmas in the pubs.
