I am thinking of visiting Frankfurt for a weekend break in March next year and seem to have got down to 2 hotels, the Bristol and the Victoria. Can anyone help me decide? Which is the nearest to the railway station and the most central one for sightseeing? Or any other suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks

Any reason why you have chosen these two hotels? Do they have something specifically that you want or like? Did you get a good price or deal? They are both very near the train station as you can see from their location maps on google or from their websites. Hotel Bristol is about 10 more minutes from the city center than the Victoria, walking.
There are tons of hotels to choose from, and though there is nothing inherently wrong with staying near the train station, some people would like to be in a nicer neighborhood, or in a hotel with more charm. What is your budget?

Thanks for the speedy reply. I suppose it was budget really (£130 for the 2 nights) that steered me in the direction of these 2 hotels, and they seemed to have good Tripadvisor reviews. I chose ones near the station to provide an easy link from the airport, by train and then on foot - we can very easily get lost!! I am totally open to suggestions.

I just looked under www.hrs.com just to get an idea as they usually have good prices and it is easy to see the locations, etc. Don%26#39;t know your dates, so typed in March 19-21.
These hotels looked good and are in nicer neighborhoods and not that hard to get to, as well as being fairly close to the city center.
Art Hotel Robert Mayer - Westend
Hotel Pension Goelz - Westend
Alexander am Zoo - Eastend / Bornheim
Maingau - Sachsenhausen
Ibis - City Center on the River
Steigenberger Frankfurt City - City center, but farther East, and also next to the river
All of these were 71 GBP and under. I think if it was me, I would go for the Steigenberger or the Ibis for the easiest to get to. Alexander am Zoo and the Art Hotel are probably the prettiest. Don%26#39;t go with the prices that are listed here on TA. Do a few searches, look at the hotels own website, and hrs.com of course.
If you don%26#39;t mind a 10-15 min. tram ride straight from the train station, have a look at Motel One too.
