Hotel Viktualienmarkt review - I just have to comment...

%26quot;By far the WORST hotel on Earth%26quot; is the title.

Ok, so you%26#39;re travel agent booked you a hotel in central Munich, but didn%26#39;t bother to tell you that it didn%26#39;t have an elevator...and who%26#39;s fault is that? Perhaps that of your %26quot;Travel Agent%26quot; which is one reason I don%26#39;t use them. When I%26#39;ve emailed Hotel Viktualienmarkt for reservations for two different trips they always informed me that they do not have a lift...which is not uncommon in Europe. This is hardly a reason to give a hotel poor marks unless of course they lied to you...which I don%26#39;t think is the case.

You said the workers smoke...hold on to your seat but many many people in Europe smoke. I think perhaps smoking is more common there than here in the USA...I guess your Travel Agent didn%26#39;t share that information with you either, right? I wonder how you arrived at your conclusion that the workers sit in their lounge all day and chain smoke...did you stay with them all day long and watch? I didn%26#39;t think so.

The breakfast provided is large and varied - you want a 5-star breakfast then tell you Travel Agent to book you into a 5-star hotel next time...

Your bathroom smelled - I can%26#39;t be sure because I wasn%26#39;t there. However the entire hotel was clean when we visited and none of our 5 rooms had stinky or moldy bathrooms. But I%26#39;m thinking this is just a leftover rant from a person who didn%26#39;t like carrying their bags up the stairs.

The next time you visit a hotel perhaps you could have your Travel Agent pop over to TripAdvisor and read some reviews before they book you a room.

BTW - your review is an example of the reviews that I brush aside as meaningless,

I%26#39;ve not seen this review, but my experience of this hotel is one of value for money in ideal location. 2* - 3 * standard, clean.

wow.... what valour! i always assume people who read reviews are able to make up their own minds on which reviews seem trustworthy and which are written by cantankerous old buzzards... these comments would be far more useful if left as feedback on the hotels review section... that way more people will see it... this post will fizzle out in a few days...
