Hotel Villa Marstall or Gausthaus Hotel Backmulde?

I will be traveling to Heidelberg next summer with my husband and 13 year old daughter. The Hotel Villa Marstall and Gausthaus Hotel BAckmulde have both been recommended to me and get good reviews. I am wondering the following:

1. The Villa Marstall fronts the river, which sounds great, but will it be loud in the evening? We aren%26#39;t ones to stay up that late.

2. What are the pros or cons of either location?

Any advice or recommendations is appreciated! Thank you.

Villa Marstall : next to a main street with traffic . if you book a room to the other side , the location is perfect.

Hotel Backmulde : in the middle of the old town possibly noisy people at night

Although it fronts the river, I believe there is a road in front, then the river. In any case the center Old Town in Heidelberg is fairly noisy, but quaint and lively with restaurants, bars, pedestrians.

Thank you both very much for your help!

Can%26#39;t tell you about Villa Marstall, but we stayed at the Gasthaus Backmulde last month and it was on a quiet street off the main street. If you end up choosing this one, make sure you ask for a room with a private bath. The rooms on the 3rd floor share a bath. I thought the rooms were pretty stark, but worked for one night.

I stayed in Villa Marstall facing the river and road.

The hotel is very well soundproofed both internally and externally.

I don%26#39;t think we had the windows open much, but we had no trouble with noise.

The breakfast was very good, fresh and made up several times.
