Hotel without breakfast - recommendations to eat please

Hi,

So many of the hotels on offer seem not to include breakfast, or charge anything up to Euro 20, so we thought we%26#39;d go out and get something elsewhere.

Can anybody recommend (not too expensive) places to get a good hearty breakfast in Cologne - German or continental style preferred!

A lot of hotels on this webstie include brekkie. We got a good deal for the Mercure Severinshof in Cologne. It was only €4 more expensive than all the other websites we looked at but it was the only one that included Brekie so we went with them.

Stay at the Coellner Hof Hotel for the best breakfast buffet ever and it is included in your room price, which is also not very expensive. Usually around 75 euro for a double.

I have also booked my hotel without breakfast and am looking for nice suggestions on where to have breakfast. I am staying at the renaissance cologne, so nearby places would be better. Thanks for this.

What I usually find useful is to open google maps and put in your hotel name and address. When the location appears on the map use the search nearby funciton and put in Cafe.

This will then give you a list of places near the hotel along with website details if they have a website. You can also print off walking directions and a street map.

I find it great, you can usually see a menu etc...

We haven%26#39;t actually booked anything yet, so does anyone know of anywhere specific near the Altstadt/Hauptbahnfhof?

You can still use google maps just plug in Haupbahnhof, Cologne and then follow the above steps. Or you can also use Altstadt and do the same.

The Coellner Hof is about a 5-10 walk from the main train station. Very easy to reach.
