Potsdam & Sanssoucci Castle

We will be staying in Berlin from 8-11 November and would like to visit as many sites as possible. We can spare around 4 or 5 hours to visit Sanssoucci Castle and Potsdam. Is it possible to do in such a short time? Which is the best way to travel to Sanssoucci Castle and Potsdam - by train, bus or guided tour? What are the costs involved? Any relevant details would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It is quick and easy to get to Potsdam by local trains .

At Potsdam station you can get a tour bus or a normal bus to

Sanssoucci Castle .

You can also walk to the %26quot;New%26quot; Palace from the S-Bahn stop..this has interesting interiors as well..plan carefully

four to fives hours is pretty tight, you may to keep in mind that the train to Potsdam takes abotu 45 minutes from the center, depending where you are starting and if you have to switch trains. we needed 45 minutes from the %26quot;anhalter Bahnhof%26quot; station. so there goes 1,5 hours!

you can walk to Sanssouci castle, but this would take another approx 25 minutes, you could rather take a tram to downtown (the fare would be included if you use day tickets which include Potsdam), from there it would only be a 10-15 minutes walk. still it will all be in rush, beacuse the whole setting with Sanssouci and the new palace is quite big and definately deserve a little more time!
