Latest on S Bahn

I am going to Berlin at the end of November. Can anyone tell me what the situation is regarding the S bahn? We need to get from Schoenfeld to Alexanderplatz.

Services are gradually being re-established though as yet the S-Bahn doesn%26#39;t go to Schönefeld. However you have the half-hourly train service from DB platform at the airportstation (leaves just before the hour and half-hour) that gets you into Alexanderplatz in around 20mins (a lot faster thanthe S-Bahn wd).

The S-Bahn is now running across the centre again eg to Zoo station.

Thank you for this. Do we get the tickets for the train from the DB platform in the same office as we would the S Bahn?

Both are covered by the same tickets. Local public transport tickets do cover all means of local public transport in Berlin:

- regional trains (what is here behind %26quot;DB platform%26quot;)

- S-Bahn

- U-Bahn (metro)

- trams

- buses

and even some ferries.

Main source for tickets are the ticket machines. You can also buy tickets from BVG sales points in terminal A and D.

Single ticket is EUR 2,80. Day ticket EUR 6,50.
