A good flea market for sunday please.

We will be in Berlin sunday October 25th and as the shops are closed and I, hopefully, will be at the Hertha v Wolfesburg game could anyone please suggest a good flea market or similar for my good wife to occupy herself with, she loves a good market, we will be staying close to Tempelhof Airport but should have no problem with getting arround by then, I see there is one in strabe des 17 juni, but where abouts on this street, thanks in anticipation.

Not sure when that was compiled but it%26#39;s not very modern . Mauerpark fleamarket is in all the guidebooks and I don%26#39;t think the one by Nordbahnhof is still around (I noticed it 3 years ago but the area is being redeveloped for the Wall memorial now). Not mentioned, but I%26#39;ve read good things about, (though never been) one in Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain.

Strasse des 17. Juni (near S-Bahn Tiergarten station) is the most professional-looking, with stalls run exclusively by professional dealers I would say. It%26#39;s open Sat and Sunday.

The other two I go to are Arkonaplatz and Mauerpark. Arkonaplatz is a mix of professional dealers and locals turning out cupboards and has a wide variety of stuff in quite a small market; you even have local kids with books, games etc on blankets.

Mauerpark is HUGE and again a mix but the percentage of absolute junk is quite high (I know it%26#39;s in the eye of the beholder but there are areas where you just sort through baskets, unpacking newspaper etc). It%26#39;s on rough ground incl. part of an old coal depot so not a place to head for if it%26#39;s been raining. But it is fun to look, also for people-watching!

Arkonaplatz and Mauerpark are close together so you could do both but Arkonaplatz finishes at 4pm (not sure when your match is). U-Bahn Bernauer Strasse or tram to Zionskirchplatz for Arkonaplatz. For Mauerpark you cd also take a tram along Bernauerstrasse or walk from Eberswalder Strasse U-Bahn.

Thank you both very much, this is just what I needed to brouse, i have checked the locations on google earth and have enough info now to decide

on which to visit when we ge there.

If you are into historical things or pre-1989 memorabilia, try the one at the Ostbahnhof. Cheaper than the one on 17 Juni Strasse!

Mauerpark also has lots of DDR-era stuff. Not sure about prices though. When I was there last month I heard someone ask the price of a radio (at a stall specialising in old radioes) and she was told 300€. Admittedly she asked in English (she was Spanish), not sure if that affected the price but it seemed amazingly high to me!

The flea mkt. on t he June Strasse is just that.....it is all up or down this street. I could stay there all day. Easy bus rides to this location as well/ There are street vendors up in front of the Pergammon Museum where I found some deals on GDR items and a flea mkt. somewhere near here.
