Eintracht Frankfurt Tickets

Hi. My wife and I will be in Frankfurt between 18th-20th December. I would like to know how easy it is to purchase tickets for the Frankfurt - Wolfsburg game on the 19th?

Will I be able to buy the tickets once I arrive in Frankfurt or will it be too short notice?

Also, where are the best places to buy the tickets?

Any help will be appreciated.

Many thanks.

To be sure to get a ticket order it :

www.eintracht.de/english/about_eintracht/

|||

yep, i think it would be a good idea to buy them beforehand, it is already 75 % sold out!

|||

This will be a high profile game, so make sure to get your tickets ahead of time as it probably will sell out

Restaurant ideas-large group

We will be visiting teh xmas markets the weekend before Christmas and like anywhere else in the world I am sure it will be very busy. We have a group of 25 and need to make some dinner reservations so that we are not roaming aimlessly when we arrive.

It needs to be fun, good food- any cuisine, not too expensive and happy to seat a large group.

Any suggestions or website would be fab.

Thanks

|||

For a funny evening I would suggest to go to mongolian cuisine MONGO%26#39;S in the Duesseldorf Media Harbour.

It%26#39;s more or less a buffet which will be prepared directly after selection.

Take a look on:

I have taken many people to: www.brauerei-zum-schiffchen.de. You will want to call them and make a reservation. While it is a brew pub, it has pretty good authentic food, excellent beer, good service, and is very reasonably priced in a good location in Altstadt. Make sure you reconfirm the reservation a day before you go and get the name of the person you talk to. It is a big place an can easily acccomodate your group.

I am travelling to hanover via frankfurt. Is there a direct train from the airport to hanover? Or what is the easiest route to hanover?

|||

Go to the GermanRail website:

www.bahn.de

switch to the English version

Input your departure as Frankfurt Flughafen and your destination as Hannover (Hbf)

input your dates and put the time of departure as 0600

Hit search and the trains between the two points will come up

If you want a later train than the several which will be shown, hit %26quot;later%26quot; for a longer list

There are direct trains.

Thanks Intrepid. I can make reservations but its expensive 236 euros for return journey for 2 people. Is this the norm? Or it there a cheaper way to travel? I checked the local trains from this site but it wasn%26#39;t much cheaper - 186 euros for a 5 hour journey compared to the express at 2 hours.

|||

Have you already bought your flight tickets? If not you can check if you can buy Rail%26amp;Fly tickets together with your flight tickets.

bahn.de/international/…rail_fly.shtml

If you use regional trains you can use the Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket. EUR 39,00 for 2 persons. This ticket covers all regional trains in Germany and is valid Mo-Fr from 9am till 3am next day

If this is on a Sa or Su use the Happy-Weekend-Ticket. EUR 37,00 for 2 persons. Valid either Sa or Su from midnight till 3am next day. This ticket coves additionally the trams and buses in Hannover.

Travel time from Lübeck Airport to Hamburg is 75 minutes by shuttle bus.

|||

thats a pain

want to fly uk to Hamburg

sat am till monday and ryanair seemt o be fitting in with this time nut the airport is far! thanks

|||

Lübeck is the perfect airport - if you plan to visit Lübeck (an UNSESCO world heritage).

http://www.luebeck-tourism.de/

With Ryanair you have always to be careful where the airports are located:

(Hamburg-)Lübeck

(Düsseldorf-)Weeze/Niederrhein

(Leipzig-)Altenburg

(Frankfurt-)Hahn

All these airports are at least 1 hour away from %26quot;their%26quot; (city).

|||

oh and thanks for help!

|||

No, plan to stay in the %26#39;city%26#39; centre of Hamburg, go on the boat during day explore a bit of the city etc...

most importanly go into the centre Reeperbahn(excuse my spelling) for the clubs, cafes and nightlife! Just a 2 night trip...

I don%26#39;t think Lubeck is a good choice so its back to the main airport!

|||

Hi,

the bus departs in front of the airport (the airport is very small, so you can%26#39;t miss it) and costs 18 € return, 9 € oneway. It usually waits for the passengers of the flight and you don%26#39;t have to book in advance.

Just buy your ticket from the driver.

The bus takes you to the central station of Hamburg in 65 minutes.

Have fun in Hamburg,

Kirsten.

|||

How does one get from the raddison hotel (CCH) to Lubeck airport ?

1:is it possible to get a train ? does it leave you close to the airport

2: any idea what it would cost in a taxi ?

3: is there a shuttle bus ? (I know there is one from airport to Hamburg)

Many many thanks

Jeremy Minsberg - Berlin Tour Guide

Recently spent 4 days in Berlin and Jeremy was our guide. He is professional, incredibly bright and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the history and people of Berlin. I can%26#39;t say enough good things about Jeremy but I will say that I plan to return to Berlin and enlist him again to see those areas I missed. Thanks so much Jeremy! Bill

We are booked with Jeremy for November. He is delightful to correspond with and we are very much looking forward to our day with him!

Jeremy%26#39;s fees are explained on his website and he will answer any questions immediately. To this day he has been the best tour guide we have had over many years of travel all over the world. Good luck- Bruce and Barbara

DB Bahn online ticket trap

We made an online booking for DB travel before we left home, and paid 198 euro for the ticket which we printed. When we presented the ticket and our proof of identity on the night of travel to the conductor, he accepted the ticket. However, 30 minutes later, a second conductor said that because the ticket was not of A4 size, it was not a valid ticket, and we needed to immediately pay the onboard fare of 330 euro.

At the time of writing this, I have paid 528 euro for that particular travel, but have applied for a refund of the 330 euro, believing that we had a valid ticket and reservation.

Does anyone know the postal or email address of DB so that I could follow up any refund?

Make sure, to avoid hassles, that you print online tickets in A4 size. I think the same issue may arise on Italian trains.

|||

our railway company is a big joke in terms of customer service, i´m sorry to hear what happened to you :(

The homepage doesn´t give away an email adress at all, here is a phone number for calls from outside of germany :

(+49)1805 996633

I highly doubt they´ll do anything about it though, since there´s no harm for them in you being unhappy as for them you aren´t a current customer anymore being thousands of miles away and everything ... Your best bet would be to contact any travel agency you booked the trip/flight with and ask them for advice how to handle this.

Or are you still in germany ? If you are and near a big city you might consider going to the help desk at the city´s railway station, chances of getting sth done/discussed with them are often better than via phone or mail.

|||

Ridiculous! I wouldn%26#39;t have paid this..... What would the guy do, throw you out?

|||

That is a nightmare; there is no A4 in America.

|||

in adition, people at help desks of major railway stations often speak a better english.

or just take a shot at contacting the UK office and see if they might be willing to help you out (i realize you aren´t from the UK, but who knows if they´don´t have some time at their hands to give you a hand ?) :

sales@bahn.co.uk

(you can contact the german Bahn as well but not with an email adress but by filling out a form and nothing really fits for your case)

again, it´s a freaking joke that you had to pay extra. I never had any problems getting an exception in all countries i´ve been in and found conductors by and large to be very understanding of your situation if you explained to them you are not from the country. So it pains me to see what happens here in germany very regularly ... I myself once spent half an hout arguing in case of a japanese exchange student who accidentily put in the wrong station and was made to pay a horendous fee for it ...

|||

Joke or not, I suspect NOBODY here would have been very successful in arguing against the railway official whether he was right or wrong. If they say you are off the train then you are off...

On the contrary, I have had excellent service from the Bahn site with refunds, etc., and it was helpful to call them directly in each case which I suggest you take the time to do and good luck

|||

Thanks for that advice and those comments. It was disappointing that the first conductor accepted the ticket, while the second (more senior) conductor did not ,despite our having all of the supporting documentation. And he was not willing to accept payment for the difference between the 330 and 198 euro. He wanted the full onboard fare.

Even a travel agent in the UK cannot locate a DB address or contact for me.

But, other than this, our DB experiences were good.

|||

On what paper format did you print the ticket?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_size

Australia does use A4 (ISO 216/DIN 476) since 1974.

There are a number of remarks that the ticket should be printed on A4.

Paper size letter/legal may work as the 2D barcode of the ticket should be of similar size on these papers. If the 2D barcode comes out in a different size it may not be scanned correctly anymore. The ticket is in this case indeed void.

Refund Claim Form (in German and English)

bahn.de/p/view/mdb/bahnintern/agb/befoerderu…

Albeit the refund form is not exactly for this case.

If you have still both tickets:

You could write them a letter with copies of both tickets. If they answer and want to have the original tickets you have already nearly won.

|||

Thanks abalada,

Subsequently, I saw that the ticket should have been printed as an A4, but nowhere, as far as I can see, does it say that the ticket will not be accepted unless it is A4 size.

At a minimum, I wanted to alert other travellers to our experience, so that they could avoid it.

Cheers
