How much connection time do you think I%26#39;d need at the Frankfurt airport? I%26#39;m arriving on Continental and connecting on to spainair. Is an hour enough time to connect there? I will be arriving from the US.

Hi there!
The connecting time in Frankfurt very much depends on whether you have to change terminals or not. Continental Airlines is currently located in terminal 2 and Spanair (you wrote spainair, I guess you mean Spanair and not Iberia?) leaves from terminal 1.
Continental will move to terminal 1 soon, so this would shorten the connecting time a lot.
I personally like to have 2 hours inbetween flights so I do not have to rush in case of delays.
The official minimun transit time for Frankfurt airport is 45 minutes which is ridiculous if you have to change terminals!
Good luck with your flights ;-)

Oops! Yes, I did mean Spanair. Would you happen to know whEn continental is moving terminals? I could probably look this up online. How big is the Frankfurt airport? Do you take a shuttle between airports? This is my first time traveling thru this airport so I am not familiar. I also prefer at least 2 hours as well but don%26#39;t have too many options.
Thank you so much for your response!

Oh and I mean connect between terminals, not airports.
Would you also happen to know which terminal Lufthansa would leave from?

The Frankfurt airport is huge, one of the largest and busiest. Something like 1400-1500 flights per day. That said, I think it is pretty effecient and fairly well laid out.
To get from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1, the easiest is to take the monorail - Skytrain. It runs every 2 min. and takes about 1-2 min. to get to Terminal 1. You have to take escalators up to this, which are located sort of in the middle of the terminal. You can%26#39;t take a cart up there with you though. When you get to Terminal 1, you then come down the escalators into the middle of the Terminal. There are location boards everywhere, %26amp; people will speak English if you need help.

Are you travelling on a single ticket, or do you have separate tickets for Conti and Spanair? If you have separate tickets, I would guess you need much more than one hour.
If I Were you, I would ask experts on the Air Travel forum.

I think Continental are moving to T1 in november but I%26#39;m not sure...
Lufthansa is in T1.

For my 2 past experiences at the Airport, I would think 2 hrs. Part of the reasom I am looking here is to see what other issues people had with connections in Frankfurt. I was flying on LT from Athens and then transfering to United to fly to WAshington DC. The only way I was able to make my flight was that at passport control, they opened a new line and some folks let me in. Very lucky I made my flight.
